Are you ever going to let her mistakes go?  Are you going to let her mistakes take away from the talent that you know she has?  I’m terribly sorry she’s no longer the chubby-cheeked 14-year old girl that you saw on the Disney Channel.  I’m terribly sorry that she’s transformed into a young woman still trying to find her footing in Hollywood. Yeah, it really sucks that she has managed to do so with a sense of humor and a kind heart.  It sucks that people never seem to notice the good she does.  No matter what she does, she’s always going to be the ‘bad girl’ isn’t she?

2008 VMAs - 2011 VMAs
For two season of Hannah Montana, Emily and I had struggled to get along.  But we never hated each other.  Now here we were, shooting our movie in Tennessee […] We didn’t become blood sisters or swear best friends forever, but I could have sworn I felt something shift between us.
“I agree with Miley,” came a soft voice. Miley offered a warm smile to the brunette sitting across from her.  She was pleased when she received one in return. Dianna nodded her head, a smile gracing her lips as well as her eyes flicked between the two. “Well,” she said, drawing out her voice slowly. It achieved the desired affect as Miley’s eyes turned towards her instantaneously.  ”I agree with Miley too.” Miley opened her mouth to say something - probably a ‘thank you’ - but she continued. “I think, after this meeting’s over, maybe we could discuss it over coffee…” She paused again, this time observing the way Miley blinked rapidly.  ”Or something,” she finished casually. Miley nodded, ducking her head slightly. “Yeah…Yeah, I’d like that.” The blonde glanced slyly at Emma whose smile had slipped off her face and was now looking at her in disbelief and surprise. She smiled.
Press conferences were boring.  A complete snore-fest, if you were to ask Miley, who was currently lounging about. The only other person in the room who was around her age was currently attentively listening to whatever one of the balding men had to say. Miley wondered how somebody could have so much willpower at their disposal to pay that much attention.  She snorted and quickly covered it up with coughs as eyes flickered towards her, including Emma’s.  She saw a slight smirk playing at the other girl’s mouth and she frowned. Maybe she could have some fun. She fidgeted for the hundredth time, but this time made her movements more exaggerated.  As expected, Emma’s eyes flicked over to her again, her eyes and mouth smiling. ‘Ah, Ms. Perfect isn’t paying that much attention after all!’ Miley silently congratulated herself. She slyly used her finger and pointed at the person next to her, indicating that he was sleeping behind his folder.  She mimicked snoring and to her delight an audible giggle erupted from the other girl’s lips. She grinned as the attention transferred to the other side of the table. Success.
My job is to be a role model - and that’s what I want to do - but my job isn’t to be a parent. My job isn’t to tell your kids how to act or how not to act, because I’m still figuring that out for myself. So to take that away from me is a bit selfish. Your kids are going to make mistakes whether I do or not. That’s just life.
